Thirteen people were killed in a bus accident in Indonesia's Yogyakarta on Sunday, head of Yogyakarta search and rescue office Lalu Wahyu Effendi told local media.
A container truck slammed into a line of vehicles and motorcycles at a traffic signal in Indonesia last month, killing four people and injuring 22 others.
The pileup happened around 6.15 a.m. today at a junction in Muara Rapak, Balikpapan, according to East Kalimantan district police.
When the truck rammed into the vehicles and motorcycles, it was driven by a 48-year-old Balikpapan man who was fully loaded with lime for water treatment.
Two pickup trucks, two sedans, two minivans, six multi-purpose vehicles, and 14 heavily damaged motorcycles were seen at the scene, according to videos.
When approaching the location, the truck driver stated he put his truck into low gear to slow it down and tried to apply the brakes, but it did not work, according to the statement.
