At least 13 refugees were confirmed dead on Friday after an explosion rocked a Palestinian refugee camp in southern Lebanon.

A Lebanese military source reported on Friday evening that a huge explosion occurred in a Palestinian refugee camp in southern Lebanon, which resulted in several injuries, according to eyewitnesses.

Several people were wounded; their number has not yet been determined.

The explosion occurred on Friday evening in an ammunition and weapons depot in a Palestinian refugee camp in southern Lebanon, according to a military source and residents.

A military source stated that "a fire in a warehouse of ammunition, weapons and foodstuffs belonging to Hamas led to the huge explosion," noting that the reasons for the outbreak of the fire were not yet clear.
