The Disaster Management Authority in the Pakistani province of Balochistan confirmed that 12 people were killed as a result of the heavy rains that fell on various areas of the province recently.
The Pakistani Geo News channel reported on Sunday that the heavy rains also left 32 people injured, noting that they caused major damage to more than 260 homes.
The Pakistani channel indicated that the province of Balochistan witnessed heavy rainfall during the past days, which led to massive floods in low-lying areas and left many people stranded after the water flooded the roads.
International organizations, led by the United Nations, consider Pakistan one of the countries most vulnerable to extreme weather and climate change, as floods in 2022 killed more than 1,700 people and displaced millions.
