German police arrested 12 individuals during a pro-Palestinian demonstration in Berlin on Sunday, following the implementation of a ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas in Gaza.
The protest, attended by several hundred people, was initially organized to celebrate the ceasefire in Gaza.
However, police reported that participants chanted prohibited anti-Semitic slogans and set off fireworks.
Representatives of the media covering the event were also reportedly harassed and obstructed.
According to authorities, the organizers decided to end the protest early, wrapping up the gathering shortly before 8 p.m. local time after consultations with police.
Throughout the weekend, multiple pro-Palestinian demonstrations took place across Berlin.
On Saturday, several hundred protesters rallied against German arms exports to Israel and expressed solidarity with the people of Gaza.
Police noted incidents of criminal activity at that demonstration as well.
