A Mi-17 military helicopter crashed on Wednesday in Ghor Province, central Afghanistan, killing one person and wounding 12 others.
A spokesman for the Afghan Ministry of Defense said, in statements to the Afghan Khama Press News Agency, that the helicopter was sent to recover the bodies of two people who drowned in the Harirud River in Ghor Province, but it crashed as a result of technical problems and fell into the river.
