The Director-General of the World Health Organization, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, has denounced the Israeli bombing that targeted the headquarters and a hospital of the Palestinian Red Crescent Society in the Gaza Strip as "unacceptable."

In a statement published on the organization's official website last night, Tedros said, "I condemn the strikes that targeted Al-Amal Hospital managed by the Palestinian Red Crescent Society," affirming that "such bombing operations are unacceptable."

He highlighted that "the health system in Gaza is already collapsing, and healthcare and aid workers continually face obstacles in their life-saving efforts due to the ongoing conflict."

Yesterday, Israeli warplanes bombed the headquarters of the Palestinian Red Crescent Society and the surrounding area of Al-Amal Hospital in Khan Younis, south of the Gaza Strip.

The Society reported that the Israeli bombardment targeted the eighth floor of its headquarters in Khan Younis, resulting in the martyrdom of five Palestinians and injuring three others among the displaced.

The Society further clarified that its headquarters and Al-Amal Hospital served as a shelter for approximately 14,000 displaced people who sought refuge there, considering it a safe place.

However, dozens of families fled following the targeting of the site, fearing for their lives.
