CAIRO, Sept. 30 (SEE) - President Abdel Fattah El Sisi stressed on Sunday the importance of continuing efforts to develop Egypt’s universities and scientific research centers, MENA news agency reported.

Sisi made the remarks during a meeting with Premier Mostafa Madbouli and Minister of Higher Education Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Presidential Spokesman Bassam Rady said.

"The president directed the higher education minister to honor students, who achieved the highest grades in a medical exam that covered all medical faculties in Egypt," Rady noted

He also asserted the necessity of paying regular visits to universities as part of the state’s keenness on involving the youth in public affairs.

Abdel Ghaffar reviewed a plan to establish more international, civil and technological universities across Egypt as well as means of attracting foreign investments into the higher education field.

He also spoke of his ministry’s preparation for the new academic year, including organizing courses for students and reviving the cultural and sporting activities at universities.
