Russian President Vladimir Putin met with Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan in Moscow on Monday to discuss developments related to the conflict in Ukraine, following negotiations held in Istanbul on May 16.
According to a senior official from the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, quoted by Russia’s Sputnik news agency, the talks focused on efforts to end the conflict in Ukraine and reviewed the progress made since the Istanbul discussions.
The source also noted that bilateral issues concerning the economy and energy were discussed during the meeting.
Earlier in the day, Putin officially welcomed Minister Fidan in Moscow.
The meeting was also attended by Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and Turkish Ambassador to Russia Tanju Bilgiç.
