Russian President Vladimir Putin expressed his deep gratitude to Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko during a phone call for his assistance in organizing a prisoner exchange with Ukraine from May 23 to 25.
According to a statement from the Kremlin: “President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin spoke with the President of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko to express his sincere appreciation for Belarus’s role in facilitating the prisoner exchange, which took place from May 23 to 25 at the Novaya Guta border crossing in the Gomel region, in accordance with the agreement reached during the Russian-Ukrainian talks in Istanbul.”
Earlier, Russian Ministry of Defense announced on Sunday that 303 Russian servicemen had returned from territories controlled by the Kyiv regime, in exchange for the release of 303 Ukrainian prisoners of war.
