Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas commended Egypt and Jordan for their firm and principled rejection of any attempts to forcibly displace the Palestinian people from their land.

Speaking during a meeting of the Palestinian Central Council, President Abbas emphasized that the top national priority remains putting an end to what he described as a “genocidal war” being waged against the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip.

He stressed that the humanitarian catastrophe unfolding in Gaza must not be viewed through the lens of statistics alone. “The people of Gaza are facing a war of extermination. It is unacceptable and inhumane to regard Palestinian victims as mere numbers,” he said.

President Abbas’s remarks came as regional and international concern mounts over the scale of destruction and loss of life in Gaza, and amid growing fears of further displacement of Palestinians from their homeland.

The Palestinian leader praised Cairo and Amman for their consistent advocacy of Palestinian rights and their rejection of any policy or effort aimed at forced transfer.

He reiterated that protecting Palestinian civilians and securing their right to live in dignity on their own land must remain a central focus of international diplomacy.
