Pakistan has issued a strong condemnation of the ongoing Israeli military escalation in Gaza, denouncing the deliberate targeting of civilians, hospitals, and essential infrastructure, and calling for an urgent end to hostilities.

During a meeting in Cairo with Palestinian Ambassador Diab Allouh, Pakistan’s Ambassador to Egypt, Aamir Shouket, reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering solidarity with the Palestinian people, particularly the civilians enduring relentless violence in Gaza.

He reiterated Pakistan’s continued moral, political, and diplomatic support, along with its commitment to sustained humanitarian aid.

The Pakistani government condemned Israel’s expanded ground operations and its declaration to assume full control over Gaza, describing these moves as severe threats to peace and stability in the region. Pakistan accused Israel of deliberately obstructing life-saving humanitarian aid, effectively imposing collective punishment on millions of besieged Palestinians.

The alarming humanitarian toll was underscored by UN Secretary-General António Guterres, who recently noted that one in five people in Gaza is on the brink of starvation, while the entire population faces acute food insecurity and famine risk.

Pakistan called on the international community to act swiftly, demand an immediate and lasting ceasefire, and hold Israel accountable for what it described as egregious violations of international law and human rights. Islamabad also reiterated its firm rejection of any efforts to forcibly displace Palestinians, expand illegal settlements, or annex occupied territory.

The statement concluded with a reaffirmation of Pakistan’s steadfast support for the Palestinian right to self-determination and the creation of an independent, sovereign Palestinian state based on pre-1967 borders, with Al-Quds Al-Sharif as its capital.
