Dr. Saeed Abu Ali, Assistant Secretary-General for Palestine and the Occupied Arab Territories at the Arab League, met with an Italian delegation from the Association of Italian Organizations for Solidarity and International Cooperation at the League’s headquarters in Cairo.
The delegation included members of the Italian and European parliaments, journalists, and representatives of Italian civil society. The visit, part of a solidarity mission to Egypt, included stops in El Arish and the Rafah border crossing to gather testimonies and firsthand information on the humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip.
During the meeting, Abu Ali briefed the delegation on the deteriorating humanitarian conditions facing Palestinians in the occupied West Bank and Gaza, citing Israel’s ongoing military offensive and the comprehensive blockade that has prevented life-saving humanitarian and medical aid from reaching the enclave.
Abu Ali praised the historic ties and friendship between the Arab and Italian peoples and commended the growing voices of solidarity across Italian society.
He acknowledged their calls for an end to the war, condemnation of the continued Israeli aggression, and demands for justice and accountability for the Palestinian people.
