CAIRO, JULY 25 (SEE) The National Authority for Tunnels announced on Tuesday the passage of the giant drilling machine "Imhotep" for the third Metro line.
The line will is constructed 4 meters under the tunnel of the second line without the need to disrupt the schedule or to strengthen the soil due to the use of the latest technologies in monitoring and control.
The Metro is established under the supervision of consultancy company (Systra), and the implementation of French consortium (Vinci - Bouygues), as well as the Egyptian companies (Orascom and the Arab Contractors).
The third line extends from the Ataba to Imbaba and the League of the Arab States up until Bulak El-Dakrur.
The implementation of six other stations are also underway (Nasser - Maspero - Zamalek - Kit Kat - Sudan).
The first phase of the third Metro entered into force in December 2016 and is planned to operate in 2020.
