For Fancy Dinner, Here’s Yummy Butterfly Shrimp Recipe

CAIRO, March 12 (SEE)- For distinct occasions and fancy dinners, one stuffed shrimp plate on your dining table, beside other dishes, could be great.

Also, shrimp has variety of health benefits; as it’s rich in several vitamins, minerals and protein as well.

On the other hand, cooking shrimp is easy, interesting and fast. Here’s the recipe

Ingredients for shrimps’ spices

1 kilo large shrimps
¼ cup olive oil
2 Tbsp lemon juice
1 Tbsp shredded lemon
1 tsp salt
¼ tsp black pepper
1 tsp basil

Stuffing ingredients

1 cup breadcrumbs
½ cup melted butter
2 Tbsp lemon juice
4 mashed garlic cloves
1 tsp salt
¼ tsp black pepper
½ tsp hot sauce
2 Tbsp chopped dill
2 Tbsp chopped parsley
2 Tbsp chopped green cilantro
1 egg yolk


Wash Shrimp well then remove its peel except the part on tail, then open it from the middle using a scissor till getting a butterfly shape.

In a bowl add shrimps to the spice including lemon juice, shredded lemon, olive oil, salt, pepper, basil and set them aside for 5 minutes.

In an oven tray, add big round lemon slices as a first layer and set aside.

For the stuffing, bring another bowl and mix melted butter with shredded lemon, breadcrumbs, chopped parsley, dill and cilantro, garlic and hot sauce.

Then, add egg yolk, salt, pepper and lemon juice.

After that, stuff each piece of shrimp with 1 tbsp of prepared stuffing while pressing it slightly, then put it above one or two lemon slices set in the tray.

Repeat the same process till finishing all shrimps.

Preheat oven to 200 degrees then cook the stuffed shrimps for 20 minutes.

For presentation add chopped parsley on the top.

Cooked stuffed shrimp ready for eating
