Egypt's Exports to African Union Increased by 37.8%

Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics announced that Libya topped the list of African countries importing Egypt's exports between January and September 2021.

The Central Agency demonstrated that during the same period, the Libyan market received Egyptian's exports worth 711 million dollars, at 17.9% of the total exports to the African Union countries.

Sudan came the second as its market received imports worth 588 million dollars, representing 14.8%,  Morocco came in third place with imports worth 513, representing 12.9%. Algeria came in forth place with imports worth 448 million dollars; representing 11.2%, and Kenya worth $284 million at 7.1% of Egypt's total exports to the African bloc.

The total Egyptian exports to the five countries represent 64% of the total exports to the African Union. The highest exported commodities in plastic and its manufactures with 10.6%, after that salt, sulfur and cement with 8.1%, then machinery and electrical appliances with 5.3% of the total commodities.

The statistics indicated that the total Egyptian exports to the Union countries increased by 37.8%, to reach 3 billion and 974 million dollars, compared to 2 billion and 883 million dollars during the first nine months of the year 2020.

On the other hand, the total Egyptian imports from the Union countries have a value of one billion and 455 million dollars during the period from January to September of this year, compared to one billion and 118 million dollars for the same period last year.

Sudan came in the list of countries import from Egypt, then Zambia, Morocco, Kenya and the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
