Egypt’s Foreign Minister, Dr. Badr Abdelatty, held a phone call with Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, to welcome the recent understanding between India and Pakistan to implement a ceasefire and reduce tensions.
According to an official statement, Dr. Abdelatty praised the breakthrough as a positive development for peace in South Asia and reaffirmed Egypt’s support for diplomatic solutions to regional conflicts.
During the call, Senator Dar reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to promoting peace, stability, and regional cooperation. He expressed appreciation for Egypt’s stance and stressed the importance of international efforts to encourage dialogue and prevent further escalation.
The conversation follows Egypt’s earlier statement officially welcoming the ceasefire, which it described as a vital step towards restoring calm and building mutual trust between the nuclear-armed neighbours.
