The Organizing Committee of the 2019 African Cup of Nations to be held in Egypt decided to reduce the prices of tickets for the first round matches of the Egyptian team in the competition.

The Committee pointed out in a statement through its official accounts of social media sites, that the third class tickets for Egypt's phase one matches has been decreased from 200 to 150 pounds.

Egypt's ticket prices  were widely criticized by the public on social sites, prompting the organizing committee to cut them.

Based on studies taking into account five factors to determine the new price for the third class tickets, the committee explained that the decision came in coordination with the concerned authorities.

According to the board, the factors that have been taken into account are: ticket prices, the population of Egypt, the average per capita income, the cost of processing the supplies and the marketing value of the current tournament.

The 2019 African Cup of Nations will be held in Egypt from 21 June to 19 July.
