China has called on both India and Pakistan to exercise restraint and return to the path of political settlement through peaceful means.
Speaking at a press conference, Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesman emphasized that both nations should act in a manner that serves the greater interest of peace and stability.
Moreover, the spokesman urged both sides to remain calm, exercise self-restraint, and avoid actions that could further escalate tensions.
He also stressed that this is the outcome the international community wishes to see and affirmed China's readiness to play a constructive role in achieving that goal.
He added that China is closely monitoring the current situation between India and Pakistan and expressed deep concern over the recent escalation.
The remarks came after the Pakistani military launched a large-scale operation named "Al-Bunyan Al-Marsous" early Saturday, targeting multiple strategic sites across India.
The operation followed Indian missile strikes on three Pakistani airbases, marking a serious escalation in hostilities between the two nuclear-armed neighbors.
