On Friday, Mohamed Salah officially signed a new two-season contract with Liverpool, extending his stay at Anfield until 2027.
With this new contract, Salah became the fifth on the list of the highest-paid players in Europe.
Liverpool didn't reveal the financial details of Salah's new contract; however, prestigious English outlet The Sun previously reported that Salah signed a “stunning” new deal with Liverpool, with a total value reaching £42 million.
The newspaper added that the new contract grants Mohamed Salah a weekly salary of £400,000—an increase of £50,000 compared to his previous deal.
The contract also made Salah one of the highest-paid players in Premier League history and the highest-paid player in Liverpool's history.
According to PlanetFootball, Barcelona striker Robert Lewandowski tops the list of the highest-paid players in Europe, followed by Real Madrid star Kylian Mbappé, Manchester City forward Erling Haaland, and Harry Kane.
