PSG Reach Uefa Champions League Last 16 After Defeating Brugge (1-0)

Paris Saint Germain (PSG) have booked their place in the last 16 of the Uefa Champions League after snatching a 1-0 narrow victory over Club Brugge at Parc des Princes stadium on Wednesday.

Mauro Icardi netted the only goal of the match when he fired a powerful right-foot shot from a very close range, scoring the eighth goal in his last seven games.

Brugge were given a penalty in the 76th minute after Thiago Silva tackled Mbaye Diagne in the area, while PSG's goalkeeper Keylor Navas ensured his side's ticket in the last 16 of the Champions League as he saved a penalty kick late in the second half.

PSG now top the group with twelve points, while Real Madrid came second with seven points. Brugge took the third spot with only two points, while Galatasaray came in the last spot with only one point.

In the other Group A encounter, the 18-year-old Rodrygo netted a hat-trick as Real Madrid Punished Galatasaray with six clean goals in the Uefa Champion League.

Rodrygo rocked Santiago Bernabeu stadium with a powerful left-foot shot from the center of the box to the bottom left corner netting the first goal.

Three minutes later, Rodrygo stunned the Turkish side with the second goal when he met Marcelo’s well-played cross with a brilliant header from the center of the box to the top right corner. The Whites captain converted from the penalty spot with a right-foot shot to the high center of the goal, scoring the third after only fourteen minutes.

Three minutes before the end of the first half, Karim Benzema shocked the Turkish side by adding the fourth with an excellent right footed shot from the center of the box to the center of the goal.

Benzema appeared again in the 81st minute with a left-foot shot from a very close range adding the fifth and his second goal in the game.

The 18-year old player netted his hat-trick at the injury time when he received a through ball from Benzema with a right-foot shot from the center of the box to the bottom left corner, ending the tasty game for the whites with six clean goals.
