Manchester City have made a final decision regarding the future of Egyptian forward Omar Marmoush during the current winter transfer window.
According to English outlet Football Insider, the club has decided to keep Marmoush and will not allow him to leave before the transfer market closes.
The report stated that Turkish clubs Fenerbahçe and Galatasaray had both expressed interest in signing the player.
Manchester City’s decision is driven by manager Pep Guardiola’s desire to retain all available squad members as competition intensifies on both domestic and continental fronts.
The club believes squad depth will be crucial in the second half of the season despite Marmoush seeking more regular playing time.
Marmoush recently started in City’s match against Wolverhampton at the Etihad Stadium and scored a goal in the Premier League fixture, which further strengthened the club’s conviction to keep him.
The win was part of City’s efforts to reduce the points gap with league leaders Arsenal.
The Egyptian international scored his first Premier League goal of the current season, ending a drought that lasted nearly eight months.
His previous league goal came on May 20, 2025, against Bournemouth, while his most recent goal in all competitions was scored on October 29 against Swansea City in the English League Cup.
Marmoush had also been linked with moves to Aston Villa and Tottenham Hotspur since the start of the January transfer window.
However sources now believe a transfer is highly unlikely, as it has become clear that the player will not leave the club before the end of the month.
Since joining Manchester City from Eintracht Frankfurt in January 2025 for fifty-nine million pounds, Marmoush has been one of the club’s most impactful signings.
He scored seven goals in sixteen Premier League appearances during the second half of last season, confirming his technical value and importance to the squad.
Manchester City see Marmoush as a key part of their plans as they continue their pursuit of silverware this season.
