German football legend Christoph Daum passed away at 70 after a long battle with cancer, his family announced.
Daum's family said he had died on Saturday "peacefully surrounded by his family."
He was diagnosed with cancer in 2022. After his diagnosis, he withdrew from public life but later returned to the spotlight.
Daum said in one of his interviews that "Cancer chose the wrong body," to motivate himself and his body.
Daum won a Bundesliga title with VfB Stuttgart and coached nine different clubs over 30 years, and captured 10 titles.
The Bundesliga mourned the late legend in an official statement.
