Al Hilal have claimed the final spot at the FIFA Club World Cup after winning the AFC Champions League on Sunday, thus the line-up for prestigious championships is now completed.
They therefore become the seventh and last team to qualify for next month’s Club World Cup in Qatar, in which Liverpool will compete for the first time since 2005.
Al Hilal will enter the competition in the second round and face ES Tunis on December 14. The winners of that match progress to meet Flamengo in the semi-finals after the Brazilian outfit won the Copa Libertadores on Saturday.
The 2019 FIFA Club World Cup (officially known as the FIFA Club World Cup Qatar 2019 presented by Alibaba Cloud for sponsorship reasons) will be the 16th edition of the FIFA Club World Cup, a FIFA-organised international club football tournament between the winners of the six continental confederations, as well as the host nation's league champions.
The tournament will be hosted by Qatar between 11 and 21 December 2019, taking place at three venues in Doha.
Last year's club world cup was hosted by the United Arab Emirates and was won by last year's UEFA Champions League title holders Real Madrid, with Gareth Bale receiving both the best player of the tournament award and the top scorer award. In second place came Al-Ain and in third place came River Plate.
