The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has announced the schedule for Egypt's national football team, led by head coach Hossam Hassan, to face Cape Verde and Botswana on September 6th and 10th. These matches will mark the first two rounds of the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers, with the tournament set to be hosted by Morocco in December 2025.

The Egyptian national team will convene for a training camp from September 2nd to 10th to prepare for these crucial qualifiers. Head coach Hossam Hassan had initially planned to start the camp at the end of August, as he typically does during international breaks, to foster better team cohesion.

Meanwhile, the coaching staff is closely monitoring the national under-23 team players participating in the Paris Olympics. Hossam Hassan is keen on promoting standout performers to the senior national team. Among the players under consideration are Hossam Abdelmagid, Mohamed Hamdy, Mohamed Maghraby, Mohamed Shehata, Osama Faisal, and Mostafa Saad Messi. Previously, Hassan has already called up Koka and Ibrahim Adel to the senior team.
