Bristol City have officially announced the signing of Egyptian midfielder Sam Morsy on a deal that runs until the end of the current season, as the club looks to strengthen its squad for the remainder of the campaign.

In a brief statement published on the club’s official account on X, Bristol City said that they have signed Morsy until the end of the season, without disclosing any financial details of the agreement.

Morsy had recently joined Kuwaiti side Al Kuwait SC during the previous transfer window, but his contract was mutually terminated in September, paving the way for his return to English football.

Bristol City currently compete in the EFL Championship and are expected to benefit from Morsy’s experience in midfield, as well as his leadership qualities, as they push through the second half of the season.

The 33-year-old has spent the majority of his professional career in England, with a journey spanning 17 years.

He began his footballing path at the Wolverhampton Wanderers academy before featuring for several clubs across the English lower divisions.

Morsy later made his Premier League debut with Ipswich Town, where he established himself as a key figure in midfield.

Bristol City will be hoping that Morsy’s experience with English football and his tactical discipline add stability and depth to their squad in the weeks ahead.
