On Tuesday, the Al Ahly football team will not resume their participation in the EFA League Cup, the sports club announced.
In an official statement, the board of directors of Al Ahly decided to not continue their contests in the tournament due to the shortage of time, alongside the commitments of the majority of players with the national football team, and the U-23 national team.
Also, Al Ahly can't open the door for their U-23, and U-20 teams' players due to their commitments with domestic competitions.
Previously, the team asked the Egyptian Professional Football Club Association to postpone their game against Al Masry in the tournament's round of 16.
After Al Ahly's decision, Al Masry could be directly qualified for the further stage. They will face Al Ismaili.
Yesterday, the Egyptian club association resumed the contests of the round of 16 of the EFA League Cup due to the international break.
