The Egyptian Al-Ahly team won the African Champions League title for the second consecutive season and for the 12th time in the club’s history.
Al-Ahly won the African Championship title after recently defeating its guest, Altaragy Altonssy with an unanswered goal, in the second leg of the African Champions League final.
Al-Ahly's only goal in the match was scored by the team's defender and captain, Rami Rabia, in the fourth minute of the first half, with a header following a corner kick executed by Hussein El-Shahat, which collided with one of the Esperance players and went into the Tunisian net.
The first leg, which was held last Saturday at Rades Stadium in the Tunisian capital, ended in a goalless draw, crowning Al-Ahly with the precious championship title, and enhancing its record as the most African club in the continent to have won the African Champions League title, with 12 championships.
