The World Health Organization (WHO) has conveyed horrific testimonies about the bombing of the Maghazi Palestinian refugee camp in central Gaza.

It noted that these accounts were collected by its teams from Al-Aqsa Hospital, where the victims of this Israeli bombardment were transferred, which caused dozens of martyrs and injuries.

In a post on the X platform, WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said that "the WHO team heard from medical staff and victims horrific stories of the suffering caused by the explosions."

"A child lost his entire family in the bombing of the camp, and there is a nurse in the hospital who suffered the same loss, as his entire family was killed," he said.

According to the numbers of the health ministry in Gaza, at least 70 people were killed in an Israeli strike on Sunday evening in the Maghazi refugee camp.

At Al-Aqsa Hospital in Deir Al-Balah in the central Gaza Strip, where victims of the shelling were transferred, dozens of bodies were placed in white bags side by side on the ground awaiting burial.

"They had received about a hundred wounded in the shelling," said the WHO director-general citing Al-Aqsa Hospital hospital officials' accounts.

Tedros affirmed that "the number of patients treated by the hospital far exceeds its capacity in terms of beds and medical staff."

He raised alarm that "many will not survive while they wait" for their turn to receive the necessary health care.
