Egypt's Exports of Marble, Granite increase by 33%

CAIRO- Dec. 26 (SEE)- Egyptian exports of marble and granite increased last November by 33 percent reaching $ 24 million.

The Export Council of Building Materials (ECBM) issued on Wednesday a monthly report declaring that Egyptian marble and granite were exported to 72 countries, of which 19 were first-time importers.

The overall exports volume reached 393,772 tons, of which 65.8 percent were shipped to China.

China was placed on top of the list with an import volume of 259,327 tons.

However, the report revealed that Egypt's exports of glass and its products declined by 13 percent to reach $ 30 million compared to $ 34 million during the same period last year.

The report pointed out that Egypt exported glass and glassware to 62 countries, of which 7 were first-time importers.
