Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed a law to ban pro-Russian political parties in Ukraine amid the Russian invasion.

In her Telegram channel, Olga Sovhyrya, chairwoman of the parliamentary Committee on Legal Policy said: “The law will come into force on the day following the day of its publication.”

According to the document, Article 60 of the Rules of Procedure of the Verkhovna Rada was supplemented with a new part six as follows: “If the President of Ukraine (Zelenskyy) approves the decision of the National Security and Defense Council to terminate it by the chairman of the Verkhovna Rada “.

The law will come into force the day after its publication.

On Friday, the Group of Seven industrialized nations (G7) held a meeting to stress their commitment to supporting Ukraine until it wins the war against Russia.

The G7 countries were “very strongly united” in their will to “continue in the long term to support Ukraine’s fight for its sovereignty until Ukraine’s victory”, according to France’s Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian.
