Zawya Postpones Panorama of European Film

On Tuesday, the prestigious Zawya cinema announced postponing the upcoming Panorama of the European Film without giving any information regarding the new date.

The edition was supposed to be held between 13 and 22 January and it would witness the participation of more than 40 films in different programs.

The team expressed, "We regret to announce that the 13th edition of the Panorama which was set to take place from the 13th to the 22nd of January will be postponed until further notice in light of the recent ministerial decree pertaining to festivals and public events and the rapid spread of Covid-19 in this period."

It continued, "We will continue to monitor the situation, follow up on upcoming decrees and assess the different possibilities of dates to host this event, which is very dear to us, in the safest and most secure way. In the meantime, we wish for everyone’s safety and a hope this period passes swiftly!"

The previous editions of the event witnessed a wide interest from the audience who cared for attending several screenings.

Last November, Zawya continued its special Michael Haneke program entitled “Michael Haneke Retrospective” till November 30.

The program showcases a selection of the Austrian director’s most notable titles throughout the month of November, taking us through Haneke’s masterful works known for both their critical acclaim and provocations.
