Vladimir Rogov, a member of the Zaporizhia Regional State Administration, announced the region’s intention to become part of Russia.
“Zaporizhia has only one future, it must become part of Russia and it must become a fully-fledged region of the Russian Federation. We do not need any gray areas, nor do we need the Zaporizhia People’s Republic. We want to become part of Russia as we have been for hundreds of years,” Rogov said, according to RT on Wednesday.

He mentioned that the region has always been a developed city of Russia and its inhabitants “are Russians in mentality, so it will take a few months to fully adapt.”
Rogov added that the growing number of the region’s residents approved to join Russia, noting that the way to join Russia “will determine after the liberation of its central city”.
