Zamalek Appoint Aleksandar Stanojevic as New Coach

Zamalek appointed on Thursday Aleksandar Stanojevic as a new head coach. The Whites' president Mortada Mansour announced that Zamalek reached an agreement with the Serbian coach to lead the White Knights in the upcoming season.

"Stanojevic will land in Cairo, Egypt on Friday, August 16 to sign the contract," Mansour said. The Club's president sacked coach Khaled Galal following the Whites’ defeat in the Cairo derby, and appointed on Friday, August 2 Tarek Yehia as a temporary head coach for just a week.

Zamalek president announced earlier that the Whites would hire a new foreign coach to lead the team in the upcoming season.

Zamalek’s temporary head coach Tarek Yehia named on Wednesday his 21- man squad for the upcoming clash against Decadaha in CAF Champions League.

The White Knights will kick off their campaign in the tournament on Friday, August 16 at Burj Al-Arab Stadium (21:00 CLT).

The squad witnessed the absence of Mustafa Fathi, Tarek Hamed, Ferjani Sassi, Abdullah Gomaa, Ayman Hefni, and Mohamed Ounajem.

The squad is as follows:

Goalkeepers: Mohamed Awad – Mohammed Abu Jabal – Mohammed Subhi

Defenders: Hamdi Al – Naqaz, Hazem Emam – Mahmoud Alaa, Mahmoud Hamdi “Al – Wensh,” Mohamed Abdel Ghani, Mohamed Abdel Salam, Mohamed Abdel Shafi

Midfielder: Mahmoud Abdel Aziz, Mohamed Hassan, Youssef Obama, Mohamed Antar, Karim Bambo, Mahmoud Abdel Razek “Shikabala,” Ahmed Sayed “Zizo,” Islam Jaber
