Youth Centers’ League for Deaf, Mute Kicks Off (With Photos)

CAIRO, Jan. 31 (SEE) - Minister of Sports and Youth Affairs Ashraf Sobhy held a press conference to launch the second edition of the Youth Centers’ League for the Deaf and Mute.

The conference took place on Wednesday at the Civic Educational Center affiliated to the Ministry.

Ten thousand competitors will participate in the League organized by the Youth Centers’ Central Administration in cooperation with People with Disabilities’ Office affiliated to the Central Administration for the Minister’s Affairs.

Regarding the financial side, the league is counting on financial support estimated by 850 thousand EGP. Also, winners, from the first to the eighth position, are going to receive financial awards with the sum of 365 thousand EGP.

In this regard, Sobhy expressed, “The League is taking place across Egypt’s governorates to motivate youth with disabilities to practice sports and to positively spend their free time.”

The League’s preliminary qualifications are pided into eight groups. The events of the first groups are to take place in New Valley including the governorates of New Valley, Asyut, and Sohag.

The second group includes the governorates of Alexandria, Behira, and Gharbia. Its events will take place in Alexandria that will also host the third group’s matches. Qalyubia, Menya, and Suez are the third group’s counties.

South Sinai, Fayum, and Ismailia are the counties of the fourth, whose matches are to be celebrated in Sharm El-Sheikh.

The fifth group comprises Cairo, Giza, Dakahlia. Its events will be celebrated in Cairo. The sixth group includes Monufya, Kafr El-Sheikh, and Damietta. Its events are to be held in Monufya.

Port-Saeed will host the games of the seventh group that comprises North Sinai, Port-Saeed, and Sharkya.

Last but not least, the eighth group includes Luxor, Aswan, Qena, and Red Sea. Its games will be held in Hurghada.
