As a continuation of the largest prisoner exchange operation in Yemen between the Yemeni legitimate government, and Yemen's Iran-aligned Houthi movement, under the auspices of the United Nations and the International Committee of the Red Cross, the second plane carrying prisoners arrived at Aden airport on Friday.

The second plane that arrived in Aden carrying 76 prisoners, hours after the arrival of another one carrying 75 prisoners of the joint forces.

On the other hand, a plane carrying 100 Houthi prisoners arrived in Sana'a from Aden.

On Thursday, Yemen’s government and the Houthis agreed to exchange 1,000 prisoners, considering it the largest prisoner exchange operation since the beginning of the conflict between both parties.

Planes carrying prisoners exchanged by the warring parties in Yemen took off yesterday morning in an operation to return about 1,000 men home, according to the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC).

This process comes upon an agreement between the two parties within the negotiations hosted by Switzerland last month, which included a number of 1081 prisoners.

Under the deal, the Houthis would release 400 prisoners, while the coalition would free 681 Houthi fighters in a trust-building measure aimed at reviving peace talks.
