India discovered one case of Yellow Fungus infection from Ghaziabad in Uttar Pradesh, DNA India News reported on Monday.

Yellow Fungus is believed to be more dangerous than both Black Fungus and White Fungus. Symptoms of the yellow fungus are laziness, loss of appetite, or no appetite at all and weight loss.

In serious cases, it can also cause leakage of pus, slow healing of the open wound and slow healing of all wounds, in addition to malnutrition and organ failure and sunken eyes due to eventual necrosis.

Some experts said that those who have weak immunity should remain on alert and contact a doctor if they notice any symptoms.

Also, people with diabetes, cancer and other co-morbidities should also remain on alert and do not ignore the symptoms of white fungus infection.

More than 8,800 cases of deadly “black fungus” were identified in India. The rare infection, called mucormycosis, has a mortality rate of 50%, with some only saved by removing an eye.

India has witnessed thousands of cases affecting recovered and recovering Covid-19 patients.

Doctors believe there is a link with the steroids used to treat COVID-19, affirming that diabetics are at particular risk.
