On January 14, Lebanon enforced a strict 11-day lockdown and new travel restrictions to limit the spread of the coronavirus.

In a statement, the Lebanse Supreme Defence Council said only health professionals, those working in the food sector, and other essential workers, will be allowed out on to the streets during the curfew.

The Lebanese latest measures, which include a 24-hour curfew until January 25, come after some hospitals started to run out of beds to treat coronavirus patients.
