Egyptian stars and one of the Arab world's favorite couple, Yasmin Abdelaziz and Ahmed Elawady had contracted the coronavirus.
They contracted the virus while filming their new TV series "Elle Maloush Kbeer", which is currently premiering in the Ramadan 2021 drama marathon.
In a statement, Elawady revealed that they discovered that their infection a few days ago and immediately underwent home isolation measures.
He reassured fans that they are in good health and are currently in-home quarantine until it they test negative for the deadly virus.
The actor noted that they finished filming their new TV series "Elle Maloush Kbeer" before contracting the virus.
The series marks the first major collaboration between Abdelaziz and Elawady and the second collaboration between them after 2019’s TV series “Lakher Nafas”, which birthed their love story.
The couple achieved great success in the Ramadan drama marathon with their roles as Ghazal and Seif El Khepe. The series also achieved high views and great attention through social media.
“Elly Maloush Keber” also stars Khaled El Sawy, Donia Abdel Aziz, Ahmed Saeed Abdel Ghani, and others.
The series is a romantic drama genre that arrives from the makers of TV series “Wi Neheb Tani Leh”, scriptwriter Amr Mahmoud Yassin and director Mostafa Fekry.
Abdelaziz recently made headlines after unfollowing Yassin on Instagram due to disagreements between them before filming the last episodes of the series.
However, Yassin stated previously that no one objected or asked to change it and the ending was filmed as he wrote.
He added Abdelaziz unfollowed him due to a personal matter that has nothing to do with the series and the business.
