In conjunction with World Youth Day celebrations, we have picked a list of Egyptian Youth initiatives that aim to enhance the skills of Egyptian youth to contribute to national development.
Here are some of Egyptian initiatives that are in the interest of young people below.
First, the Financial Inclusion Initiative: The Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) is required to implement the financial inclusion initiative to facilitate opening bank accounts free of charge for citizens and youth as well.
Second, Digital Egypt Cubs Initiative (DECI): It is a free training offered by the Ministry of Communications for 3,000 top-performing Egyptian students. The skills of the generation shall be developed for them to be capable of using technology, contributing to build a digital society.
Third, One Million Youth Volunteers for Climate Adaptation Initiative: It is a societal initiative in partnership with Volunteer Team Foundation for Humanitarian Action, Ain Shams University, and Al-Azhar University. It aims to enhance youth’s capacities to cope with climate change.
Additionally, there are several youth initiatives, like Plant a Tree, Let’s Breathe Fresh Air, and Together for a Clean Environment were launched recently.
Egypt is also preparing to organize the Conference of Youth (COY17) in Sharm El-Sheikh to review youth ideas & proposals to benefit from them at COP27, according to the Cabinet’s Information and Decision Support Center (IDSC).
It’s worth mentioning that this year’s theme of International Youth Day is “Intergenerational Solidarity: Creating a World for All Ages” highlighting the message that action is needed from all generations to make the world a better place for all of them.
