Aguila Saleh, Speaker of the Libyan Parliament praised Russia`s efforts to bring the points of view between the Libyan Parliament and the Libyan National Army on the one hand, and Fayez al-Sarraj, Prime Minister of the Accord Government on the other hand.

However, Saleh refused to meet Al-Wefaq Government`s delegation and refused to sign the statement.

The parliament speaker said on Friday: “We refused to sign the statement unless it included what we wanted.”

"The party representing the Libyan people in the parliament and army went to Moscow at the invitation of the Russian leadership and out of respect for President Vladimir Putin,” he said. “When our delegation arrived there, they found that there is another delegation composed of Fayez al-Sarraj accompanied by Turkish delegation of comprising the foreign and defense ministers.”

He pointed out that the Libyan delegation met the Russians, and they refused to meet al-Sarraj's delegation, because for the Libyan parliament, al-Sarraj is not accredited, and the parliament did not give him confidence and he did not take an oath in front of it.

Saleh stated: "He does not represent anything and we may not sign any agreement with him."

According to Saleh, the Russians presented the Libyan delegation a statement to sign it, but they did not find the points they wanted to put in the statement, so they refused to sign.

He went on saying: “The other party has signed with themselves and Libyans do not accept that anyone dictating to them anything."

Saleh noted that Turkey is part of the problem, not part of the solution and has become an opponent of the Libyan people.

He said: “We have declared a cease-fire out of respect for Russian President Vladimir Putin, but the other side has not committed.”

“Turkey's interventions aim to impose the Muslim Brotherhood on the rule of Libya,” he said. “The Libyan people do not accept the threat and this is our country and we will defend it.”

About the Berlin conference, Saleh added: "I think the international community is certain that al-Sarraj government failed miserably and did not provide anything for the 4 years, in addition to its absence in the constitutional form and also in accordance with the political agreement."

He stressed: “Gangs must exit from Tripoli to ensure that the ceasefire will continue.”

The Libyan parliament speaker thanked Egypt, the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia and Jordan for providing supports, and demanded more support from all.

He concluded: “It is not possible to repeat the scenario of Syria in Libya because the Libyan people are unified.”

“The Libyan people are finally able to make their country free as they are coherent and rally around the national army.”
