Hassan Mohamed Hassan Shehata, Secretary General of the Egyptian Trade Union Federation (ETUF) has been appointed on Saturday as Egypt’s New Manpower Minister, succeeding Mohamed Saafan.
The Egyptian Parliament held an extraordinary session Saturday, where it approved a cabinet reshuffle that includes 13 new ministerial portfolios.
The parliament approved the appointment of Hassan Shahata as new Minister of Manpower, based on the letter sent to the House of Representatives regarding the new ministerial reshuffle, following President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi’s invitation to the parliament to convene.
Shehata held many key positions including:
-Chairmanship of EgyptAir Cargo’s union committee for workers
-Head of the General Union for Air Transport.
-Secretary General of the Egyptian Trade Union Federation (ETUF)
– President of the Workers’ Union for the 2022/2026 term.
