The Sudan Football Association has confirmed on Tuesday that Sudan's national team head coach Zdravko Logarušić voted for the Liverpool star Mohamed Salah in the Best Fifa Football Awards.

Logarušić had said on Wednesday, September 25 that he voted for Salah, but Fifa changed his vote during the Best Awards ceremony.

" The denials made by FIFA about a mistake in Sudan's head coach vote for Lionel Messi was untrue," the SFA vice president Nasr El-Din Humidity said.

"Our first choice was Mohamed Salah, followed by Sadio Mane, and Kylian Mbappé, but we were surprised that our vote went to Messi. We sent to the Fifa to open an investigation in this regard,"

"What FIFA published through its site did not relate to the list we voted for. Fifa told us that it received two letters, regarding our coach's vote, but we voted for Salah and informed them," SFA vice president added.

Argentine captain Lionel Messi won the Best FIFA Men’s Player award after collecting 46 points. This comes as a huge disappointment for the iconic Egyptian star as FIFA said that Egypt’s vote for Salah was not taken into consideration because the signatures were in capital letters.

On Tuesday, September 24, Salah hit the social media platform, expressing his deep love for his country. “However much they try to change my love for Egypt and the Egyptians, they will not succeed,” Salah wrote on his official twitter page. Salah’s tweet came after Egypt’s vote was not counted in the FIFA Best Men’s player award.
