A new verbal battle erupted between Washington and Beijing this time through their respective embassies in Algeria.

The story began with the US embassy in Algeria, through its Facebook account, published a press report about two restaurant owners in the United States, using their work as a way to "Educate customers about the decades-old persecution by the Chinese Communist Party against Uighurs in Xinjiang Province, China."

Beijing’s violent response came immediately, also through the official account of the Beijing embassy in Algeria.

The Chinese embassy said in a statement: "At the end of this year, we noticed that the United States Embassy in Algeria quoted on its official Facebook account an article from a website affiliated with the US State Department, to discredit China and interfere in its internal affairs."

The embassy added, "The US embassy should have focused on strengthening cooperation with the country that relies on it, but it always thinks about how to degrade other countries and hinder their internal affairs. It is confusing."

It continued that "We all know the famous word of US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo: We lie, deceive, steal and have private lessons to teach."

"It is the best explanation for this bewildering matter, which is also a permanent manoeuvre for the United States of America to interfere in the internal affairs of other countries."

The Chinese embassy confirmed that restaurants are a good window to learn about different cultures.

In this regard, it added, "In Beijing, restaurants for various foods, including the restaurants in Xinjiang, are spread all over the country, and they are desired by a large number of the masses."

Moreover, it highlighted accusations of racism practiced by Washington against Muslims, saying that "On the contrary, according to poll data released by the American Pew Research Center, there are 75% of American Muslims believe that there is serious racial discrimination against Muslims in the American society."

It concluded its statement by saying, "Finally, ignoring the facts and discrediting others to serve self interests, it is something that only harms others, also we are confident that they are doomed to failure."
