Wali Opens Hosting, Guiding Embraced Women Center

Ghada Wali the Social Solidarity Minister, opened today, a center hosting and guiding embraced women in 6th October city, after its development.

Wali launched during the opening the executive regulations for women's hosting centers, within the framework of the campaign against violence against women which will last for 16 days, starting from 25 November to 10 December.

The hosting and orientation centers for women is one of the services provided by the Social Solidarity Ministry, which aim to enhance the the Egyptian family cohesion as well as establish a positive view of women and girls, protect them from all violent practices, and help them to reintegrate into the family and society.

These centers provide the integrated services necessary to protect and harbor women at risk by providing food, clothing, physical and psychological recovery services, health and counseling awareness, as well as legal assistance to the beneficiary.

In addition, the centre seeks to solve their problems in accordance with human rights principles to economic empowerment of beneficiaries through training due to developing their skills and investing their energies to adapt to society Professionally and culturally.

The event was attended by a representative of the United Nations Women’s Authority in Egypt, the United States Agency for International Development in Egypt, Professor Hind Mohamed Ahmed, Giza Governor Deputy , Chancellor Mohamed Khalaf from the Attorney General’s Office, Major General Hisham Yahya Nasser, Assistant Interior Minister for the Human Rights Sector.

On October 2019, as part international Day of Older Persons celebration, the Ministry celebrated the graduation of the 1st batch of the ”Rafik of Elderly” Project. The event was attended by program managers and partner associations.

The event witnessed the signing of cooperation protocol between the Social Solidarity Ministry and Mustafa Mahmoud association in order to provide medical care services for the older people’s homes in the 22 governorates in the framework of cooperation with civil society institutions.
