Vince McMahon, the former WWE CEO, returned once again to the company's board of directors, on Friday.

McMahon said in a press release that his return targeted involving himself in the promotion's media and TV rights negotiations.

Holding the majority of the voting power in the company, McMahon re-elected himself and two former Co-CEO Michelle Wilson and George Barrios to the board.

Moreover, JoEllen Lyons Dillon, Jeffrey Speed, and Alan Wexler have been removed from the WWE Board of Directors.

WWE's board was chaired by his daughter, Stephanie McMahon and Nick Khan.

Stephanie McMahon just sent an email to all employees attaching the latest WWE press release.

"Today, WWE announced the return of our founder Vince McMahon to our Board of Directors and a review of the company's strategic alternatives. Please see attached."

She added that there will be an urgent meeting for all employees and the members of the board of directors, today.

Previously, different rumors revolved around McMahon's interest in selling the company.

Shares of the entertainment company jumped more than 16% after the latest news about McMahon's return.

Last July, McMahon announced retiring from the company after long decades of serving as the promotion's CEO, and the Head of the Creative team.

The world of wrestling reacted differently to the news, but the majority seemed to be not happy with the decision.

It was reported that some of the employees expressed their will to leave the company if Vince McMahon returns.
