Viggo Mortensen, Kristen Stewart to Star in Movie "Crimes of the Future"

Viggo Mortensen and Kristen Stewart will star in the Sci-fi movie "Crimes of the Future".

The movie will also feature Léa Seydouxon, Scott Speedman, Welket Bungué, Don McKellar, Lihi Kornowski, and others.

"Crimes of the Future" is written and directed by David Cronenberg. The production marks Cronenberg's first original sci-fi script since 1999’s "EXistenZ".

The movie is set in the not-so-distant future where humankind is learning to adapt to its synthetic surroundings. This evolution alters humans' biological makeup. While some embrace the limitless potential of transhumanism, others attempt to police it. Either way, 'Accelerated Evolution Syndrome", is spreading fast.

Robert Lantos will produce via his Serendipity Point Films with Neon is on board for the project, releasing the film in the U.S. Mile End will distribute in Canada, and Rocket Science is handling International Sales.

"Crimes of the Future" will begin filming in Greece in August.

The production also marks the first time the director has worked with Mortensen in around a decade since they last teamed up on the 2011 "A Dangerous Method".

It also witnesses the fourth collaboration between Lantos and Cronenberg, who teamed on "Eastern Promises", "EXistenZ", and "Crash".

The production also marks the second collaboration between Mortensen and Stewart, who teamed on the 2012 movie "On the Road".

Stewart will also be seen in movie “Spencer”, portraying late royal Princess Diana Spencer.

“Spencer” is written by Steven Knight and directed by Pablo Larraín. Principal photography has begun and filming will take place in Germany and the UK.

It revolves around a weekend at the start of the 1990s when Princess Diana spends a holiday with the British Royal Family and decides to end her tumultuous marriage with Prince Charles.

“Spencer” also stars Timothy Spall, Sally Hawkins, and Sean Harris – although it is not known who will play Prince Charles.

The movie will be the latest production to be entering around the late princess after Emma Corrin played her in the Netflix hit “The Crown”.
