Egyptian veteran director-screenwriter Ahmed Yehia passed away Monday at the age of 78.
Adel, Yehia's son, announced his father's death on Facebook.
The late filmmaker began his artistic career when he was young. He starred alongside renowned singer Abdel Halim Hafez in a number of films, including “Hikayat Hob” and “ Al-Banat W El-Seef”.
He obtained a Bachelor's degree from the Higher Institute of Cinema in 1968 and worked as an assistant director with Halim Hafez, Ashraf Fahmy, Hussein Kamal, and Mohamed Abdel Aziz.
Yehia presented nearly 50 works, including "Karakon Fe Al Sharea" and "Ya Azizi Kollena Lusous".
