Uzbekistan: Int'l Congress of World Society to Be Held in Samarkand

On July 22-24, 2022, the VI International Congress of the World Society "Cultural Heritage of Uzbekistan - the basis of a new Renaissance" will be held at the most famous and mysterious point on the route of the Great Silk Road - the ancient city of Samarkand.

The purpose of the congress is to consolidate the international scientific community studying the culture of Central Asia, present the work done by the World Society over the past year and develop new areas of international activity.

Heads of the world's leading museums and libraries from Egypt, Austria, Germany, Italy, Great Britain, India, Russia, Israel, Malaysia, Hungary, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Mongolia and other foreign and domestic scientists will take part in the congress with reports.

Mr. Mamdouh Osman, General Director of Islamic art museum in Cairo and Ms. Walaa Mostafa, General Director of Greco-Roman museum in Alexandria will represent Egypt.

The World Society for Study, Preservation and Promotion of the Cultural Heritage of Uzbekistan was established in 2017. It is uniting more than 400 oriental scholars around the world and pursues its main goal of assisting state and public organizations, experts, representatives of science, the media sphere and other interested structures studying heritage of Uzbekistan around the world.

One of the most striking results of the work of the World Society is the preparation and publication of 50 volumes of books-albums of the series "Cultural heritage of Uzbekistan in the collections of the world."
