The US State Department confirmed that there is unanimity from the North Atlantic Treaty Organization "NATO" on the accession of both Sweden and Finland.
US State Department spokesman Ned Price said, according to the American "Al-Hurra" channel, today, Wednesday, that Secretary of State Anthony Blinken is convinced that there is a consensus on the accession of Sweden and Finland to NATO after talks he held in Berlin, the capital city of Germany, with a number of ministers.
Sweden’s Prime Minister Magdalena Andersson said that Finland and Sweden will submit their application to join the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) on Wednesday.
This came during a joint press conference with Finnish President Sauli Niinisto in the Swedish capital, Stockholm, according to the American network (CNN) on Tuesday.
The Finnish parliament had voted by 188 votes to 8 in favour of joining the "NATO".
