The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) announced on Thursday relaxing many Coronavirus restrictions which could be a major shift in the humans’ living adaption wit the virus.
Moreover, the CDC asserted that their guidelines will focus on protecting people who are in high risks of the virus.
CDC epidemiologist Greta Massetti said: “The virus that causes COVID-19 continues to circulate globally. But importantly, the current conditions of this pandemic are very different from those of the last two years.”
He added: “This guidance acknowledges that the pandemic is not over, but also helps us move to a point where COVID-19 no longer severely disrupts our daily lives.”
The expert explained that the new guidelines don’t mean that the pandemic is over, but it will give more space for people to continue their daily life normally.
“This guidance acknowledges that the pandemic is not over, but also helps us move to a point where COVID-19 no longer severely disrupts our daily lives,” Massetti expressed.
The updated measures came as Biden’s administration was deeply criticized for continuing its strict protective measures regardless the widespread of vaccines and treatments.
Those protective codes “now allow public health efforts to minimize the individual and societal health impacts of COVID-19 by focusing on sustainable measures to further reduce medically significant illness as well as to minimize strain on the health care system, while reducing barriers to social, educational, and economic activity,” CDC revealed in a report.
